PHOENIX – Former Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords brought her gun-safety message to the Faces of Domestic Violence conference in Phoenix, where women from around the state met to discuss domestic violence and share their stories. Giffords, who was severely wounded in a 2011 Tucson shooting spree, said gun safety is a domestic violence issue, with husband Mark Kelly telling the crowd that the “most dangerous place for the American woman happens to be in her home.” Advocates and survivors said the more people share stories of violence, the stronger the movement to end it will be.
