An executive action no one disputes: ‘Pardoned’ turkeys head to life of ease

LEESBURG, Va. – They come to Washington, spend some time in a fancy hotel, get face time with the president who takes action that directly benefits them, then head off to retirement and a life of ease in Virginia’s horse country. Inside-the-Beltway fat cats? No. Fat birds, actually. After they’re “pardoned” by the president, the White House’s Thanksgiving turkeys head out to a Virginia farm to live out their days.
