PHOENIX – Health officials fear that all the attention being paid recently to Ebola is taking the focus off the need for people to get flu shots as winter, and flu season, approaches. Dr. Robert Beauchamp said that there have been only a handful of Ebola cases in the U.S. but that thousands were killed by the flu last year, including “over 100 children who died.” He said flu shots are safe and inexpensive and that people have a duty to get vaccinated, if not for themselves then to protect others from the spread of the flu.
