ACLU threatens suit over Maricopa County stance on same-sex adoptions

The American Civil Liberties Union of Arizona is threatening to sue the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office for saying it won’t help in adoption cases involving same-sex couples. In addition to saying the stance violates the Constitution’s equal protection clause, an ACLU official says the county attorney has a legal and ethical duty to help same-sex couples adopt.
