Credit Options

3 Credit Hours

• Students must fulfill TWO full shifts (9 a.m.–6:30 p.m.) in the Cronkite NewsWatch Newsroom and/or Cronkite News Service Television Bureau.
• Prerequisite: JMC 330 or JMC 531 (unless waived by instructor)
• This option is ideal for first time NewsWatch students.
  *Note: Studio Production students may choose Tuesday-Thursday noon–6 p.m. shift option for 3 credits

6 Credit Hours

• Students must fulfill THREE full shifts (9 a.m.–6:30 p.m.) in the Cronkite NewsWatch Newsroom and/or Cronkite News Service Television Bureau.
• Prerequisite: JMC 330 or JMC 531 and NewsWatch (unless waived by instructor)

9 Credit Hours

• Students must fulfill FOUR full shifts (9 a.m.–6:30 p.m.) in the Cronkite NewsWatch Newsroom and/or Cronkite News Service Television Bureau.
• Prerequisite: JMC 330 or JMC 531 and NewsWatch (unless waived by instructor)

How to Apply

All students must present application packets that include the following:

1. Application (available online)
2. Cover Letter
3. Resume
4. DVD and/or other work samples
5. Instructor Evaluations for JMC 315, 330 & 345 (available online)
   -These must be delivered to your prior instructors, who will then fill out the evaluations and return directly to Mark Lodato for consideration
